College admissions, international student.HELP

Hi! I moved to US one year ago, so my english is not that good, and I was wondering is it even possible to get into college?
I really want to get into good university with architecture major, but my current SAT score is really low because of English section.I’m preparing for ACT and TOEFL really hard this summer.I hope, I’ll raise my score, but I know ,that it would not be enough high. So,maybe someone know what to do?Or maybe universities deal differently with international student’s admissions?
(I’ll be senior this year.)

Sorry, that is a tough situation to be in. They will understand if your score is not as good yes. But they will only go so far. What kind of visa are you on. Permanent residents with green card get treated like americans in admissions, but international students it is often tougher to get in. But often there is some level of college you can get in. Since you don’t give any indication of grades or scores It is impossible to say further. The US has a wealth of colleges for all level of students.

Thank you for the answer! I have a green card now…My current GPA 3.4 , and SAT is almost 1350( it was my first try)
This fall I’m going to take TOEFL and ACT (I heard that it has easier english section, I hope so.).

You are very lucky then, you will have better chances than international students. What is SAT breakdown? It is the M + CR that is the most important part. I think ACT is important with speed so practice practice.

The colleges that you apply to will also look at your grades from your previous secondary school. They will be able to know if you are a good student who is still learning English. When you communicate with the places that you are applying to, find out if the SAT or ACT are necessary in your case, or if they will just use the TOEFL because you haven’t been in the US very long.

What does your guidance counselor suggest that you do? Does your counselor have a much experience with students like you? If not, does your counselor have a colleague who would be able to advise you?

If you have a green card, you’re not an international applicant. They will consider you a domestic applicant for admission purposes.
You won’t be able to get into any top-tier universities, but you still have a chance of getting into good state schools.
