College Admissions Predictor

Hey, has anyone ever used this predictor @ <a href="http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/admissions.htm#download%5B/url%5D">http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/admissions.htm#download</a></p>

I downloaded it, and it said I had a 43% chance of getting into Cornell...so I guess thats average??? Anyone else used it?

<3 NIK

I got a 81% but I don't think it's accurate :(

I got a 96%, but thats wayyy too high. It's too stats driven; I think Cornell cares more about essay/recs/ECs than just pure stats.

agreed with towerpumkin

Wow, so once again, I have no chance. lol

Use the code abc8848 to get the whole version. (I hope this isn't an illegal post; if it is, please delete...)

yea i got 56% but theres no way my chances are that high.

I saw on the old board, some people used it last year, they said the chances it gave were too low?

76%, with Wellesley as a safety. This seems a little too high.

yah, this thing seems very stupid.
it does not take anything into account except for numbers.
there is no way my chances are as high as they say

i don't think it is accurate.
here are some of my percentages:
SAFETIES- 71% Hopkins, 78% U of Chicago?
PRIMARIES- 56% Cornell, 50% Georgetown, 43% Northwestern

I have one thing to say: I WISH!!!! this college admissions predictor should be banned off the internet. THERE IS NO WAY MY CHANCES ARE THAT HIGH AT ANY OF THOSE SCHOOLS.

by the way, the program's determination of "safety" and "primary" is totally off too. there's no way that i believe that the schools i listed are anything but reaches for me.

its got some weird things going on. i put in some stuff to figure out how it works.

i put in neglibible stats, except for the class rank. if i put 9/100 it said 70% chance. if i put 11/100, it said 14% chance.

those types of programs are just for fun and complete BS. Stats are just numbers, but ECs/recs/essays/etc also play a big factors in admissions. Nothing can predict admissions until the day you recieve the letter

yeah, I don't think it is necessary to say it's not reliable, I think it is pretty obvious based on everyone's "chances"...but fun nonetheless for us COLLEGE obsessed ppl~~
