Hi y'all... I signed up for army and I got four years to serve. I have an Associates from a CC. I am worried if after four yrs the I am not as an attractive applicant as I am now due to academic leave for the four yrs.

There are lots of colleges which will love to have you after your military service. It probably will not be a barrier at all.

Also, if you like the Army, there is a very good chance that it will pay you to attend college in exchange for another four years of active duty… and make you an officer. This opportunity might come at about the two year point.

You might consider getting your degree through the internet while still in the Army. Penn State has excellent online bachelors programs.

You will come out of the military with valuable life lessons, and will be more mature. You will be a better college student for it. Many veterans are admitted to top notch programs. Take the opportunities in the military to get further education paid by Uncle Sam. Good luck.

Like the above two posters said, don’t worry about it! I didn’t even have an associates and had absolutely no issue getting into a great school after having served 5 years in the Navy.
