No - but UNDERGRADUATE research is different from research in general.
Universities with graduate programs are likely to favor graduate students (logically).
Honors programs may emphasize undergraduate research.
Top LACs hire researchers for their ability to involve undergrads.
R1 universities will have the highest research output (which may or may not involve undergrads in a significant role and may or may not involve top researchers teaching undergrads).

My advice to you is to read through the webpages for

  • ASU Barrett
  • Penn State Schreyer
  • Lawrence Physics (and R1 program)
  • College of Wooster
Not one of these is probably on your radar as of now, yet all support undergraduate research, including poster presentations at conferences and publication when deserving&relevant.

I never said that. I said you needed to look into research opportunities for undergrads.

For clarity, it might be instructive if you specified a source for what you consider to be T20 or T50 schools. U.S. News, for example, does not provide general T50 or T20 lists for U.S. colleges. The closest it might come to this is a national ranking of the top 31 colleges by their standardized scoring profiles: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/slideshows/colleges-with-the-highest-sat-scores?slide=34. Note, however, that this ranking is flawed, mostly due to the unavailability of information for some schools.

A link from U.S. News pertaining to undergraduate research opportunities was posted earlier in your topic (College applications - #22 by merc81). Are you seeking another link?
