Hello, I have a problem with my SAT account. I took the SAT on Sunday, so I had to register by mail. However, all my information is only input into my email account and not my College Board account. How do I fix this? I’ve already contacted college board through both email and phone and they do not have a direct answer for me, probably because this is a rare occurrence. My college board account information has my email in it too and other things neccessary to link collegeboard with my email. Do I just call them to make another reservation for another SAT date, or do I have to sign up online all over again, because I also included in the mail a fee waiver. Thanks for all your help.
Isn’t this similar to the in-school SAT tests? Do those show up on the portal? I’m thinking they should be able to link your test results to your account easily on their end. This can’t be that unusual an issue, since many students test on Sunday for religious reasons.
When you call them, ask to speak to someone who would know the answer to this. However, it’s very possible you find in a few weeks that your test results will be on your portal, since you probably had to provide identifying info. when your registered and these can be used to link to your account.
Does that mean I can just re-register online for another day to test and it would automatically put me on a Sunday test date or is it better to just call?
Also, I’ve alredy tried contacting them, however the guy I was asking seemed like English wasn’t his first language so there was a bit of a miscommunication, they emailed me that my SAT scores would come to my email in 5 weeks, however the linking part still hasn’t happened, will my high school still be able to receive it?
^ OK they are hit and miss at the CB customer center - I’ve had the non-English speakers as well. They all try to help as best they can but are sometimes difficult to understand. Sometimes it’s best to keep trying till you get someone experienced but e-mailing them with the question will work as well or you might ask them to transfer you if their responses don’t answer your question.
So, I’m guessing that your school should get your test results regardless - didn’t you have to list your school and CEEB code when you registered? Back in the olden days before internet we would register by mail and our school would get our results. Everything would take longer (no internet, recall) but the process still happened. Even just a few years ago, the PSAT wasn’t linked to the online CB account so the students were given a proprietary code in order to get access to their scores online. Otherwise they had to wait for the paper copy from the GC’s. So it is DEFINITELY possible to link your score results to your online account, although I suppose they might do something differently for the Sunday testers. These directions seem to imply that even registration by mail should result in online scores, assuming that your CB account is up and running:
“Other Ways to Get Scores: Paper score reports: Students who register by mail and don’t have active College Board online accounts will receive paper score reports.”
Any registration for a future test date should also be on a Sunday, since you must have received special clearance for the initial Sunday test:
“Registering a Second Time: Once you’ve registered for Sunday testing, you can reregister online or by phone for additional test dates. However, mailed registrations must always include the letter from a religious leader, even for students who have registered for Sunday testing before.”
You can certainly try to register for an upcoming test on your online account just to see if you are only offered Sunday dates. Apparently you can’t test both on a Sat. and a Sun.
It sounds like you just took the test? If so, scores aren’t even out yet so you have time to get some definite answers on where they will show up. Could be very wrong here but it appears that your scores should still show up on your online account, even though you didn’t register that way.
Good luck and keep us posted!
OP here is more information from the CB site:
"How to Get Help with Scores: If you’re having trouble accessing your released scores:
You may need to update your account information. Log in to the student score portal and follow the instructions to verify your account.
Log in to the student score portal and learn how to use your registration number from the SAT or Subject Tests to verify your account.
Do you have another College Board account? You, your parent, or guidance counselor could have made it. Log out now and log back in using the other account.
Do you need old scores? You can call to request old scores. You will have to pay a fee.

Educators who need help should go to the K–12 portal’s help page."
So, from these tips we can conclude that they need your online information to be current and verified for the scores to show up in your portal. This prevents fraud. Not sure when you set up your CB account but you might try logging in and see what happens or what other information they claim they need. I know that back before all the tests were 100% accessible online, no one could even access anything before scores were available. So you might wait till you get the e-mail alerting you that your scores are ready for viewing, then try to access them online (providing any needed information for verification if necessary), then calling them if you are still having difficulty.
Ok, so I figured out the problem, I contacted the College Board and they told me that my online account and my mail registration were “separate accounts”. They plan to just merge it just like how you would typically merge two online accounts and then I could receive the scores. Do you know how long this usually takes, because she said she was going to merge it herself, but she couldn’t and had to send it to the higher ups? Thanks for all your help JBStillFlying.
OP - I don’t know how long it would take but shouldn’t take long unless there’s a problem. As your scores are probably presumably out by now, just check with them by Wed. if you still can’t access scores online. If you need to contact them again, be sure to get an ETA on when they will get back to you either with the news that your account is merged or how long it’ll take before it’s done.
That makes sense that they can merge, because your e-mail account is obviously a verified account. But you’ll want to be able to sign up for future tests from your online account so it will be good to have one source for that not two
Glad you got the answers you needed!
