College Board Registration?

I just have a question about registering an account on College Board: is it absolutely necessary to have that account if you're going to take the SATs? Is there any real benefit in having an account? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes there is a benefit because a few weeks after the test you can get a free detailed breakdown of your score including how many of what type of question you missed, what your percentile ranking is nationally, in-state, and compared to last year’s seniors at your own high school. It also includes a scan of your essay. The whole thing is a 10-page pdf. You can also send additional score reports by clicking on links. I agree that registering is a pain in the patootie (let’s see if CC ****'s that out), but it’s the only way.

Thanks!
I’m not taking the SAT until next year, but would it be a good idea to register anyway, just for the practice questions/tests?
