College Brochures, Acceptance Packages etc...

Okay, now that we are on our way of completing the admissions process, which college brochure, catalog, acceptance package etc., do you feel was the nicest done? In general, do you think college colors, logos or even font styles, have any kind of influence in the decision making? I mean, it all is very subliminal.

I of course am going to start, So far d. has been accepted to 7 out of ten schools and thus far I would have to say that hands down, Geneseo, a small liberal arts college in upstate NY, had the prettiest catalog with the nicest stationary in all their mailings. I don't know what it was but the paper felt nice, the colors (maroon and gold on the folder) really stood out. The brochures were muted tones that just seem to catch your eye. It sort of had a more nostalgic look to it. I was really impressed with the quality of material used and all coming from this state school.

I also thought that Ithaca College, also in upstate NY, had the best website. Very interactive, but then again communications is their forte.

I know this all sounds so shallow but I just wanted to try to lighten things up here while we are approaching the May 1 deadline.

I for one think that the marketing used may have some kind of neg or pos effect.

Just killing time.

I liked having the finaid offer in the same mailing with the acceptance letter-
the confetti was a nice touch too ;)

College of Wooster had the funniest, most endearing brochure. Made D consider it, if even for a minute. Loved the tongue-in-cheek work play. We laughed over it for days, and relieved a lots of stress during the critical time.

The Harvey Mudd materials were AWESOME.

My son was accepted to his first-choice ED (not Mudd), so I had the pleasure of tossing all this stuff several months ago. Every single brochure except Mudd was interchangeable!
