My high school has a limit on how many honors and APs I can take. I am only allowed to take 3 APs and one honor or college class. college level course, honors and APs are weighted the same. I plan to be a STEM major but if I choose college level calculus my potentional GPA drops because I will have to take a extra unweighted class.
I will be taking
Ap calculus BC
Ap Statistics
AP chemistry
Honors English or English 3
Mobile app development-2 periods long
Don’t take AP statistics, which is an easier AP for student who can’t or won’t take calculus; take AP English instead.
You will need a social science/history (unless you’re aiming for lower tier universities) and z foreign language (unless you’ve reached level 3-4, already).
IMO, replace AP Statistics with college level Physics or AP English ? You have only listed Honors English.
sorry i meant to say honors english in the title my school doesn’t let you take AP english as a junior. Ps I did US history at my community college last year and french 3
Even if you took US History as a junior, you still need a social science or history class senior year: European or World History, electives, government, economics, psychology, human geography…
French 4 would be better than French 3, depending on what college you’re applying to.
4-year colleges expect 4 years each of English and History/Social Science, Foreign language through level 3, 4, or AP, biology, chemistry, physics + 1 AP science, and math through calculus or precalculus (depending on whether you’re aiming for STEM/Business/Economics, or not).
Since you’re only taking 4 Academic courses, you can’t waste one on an elective like AP Stats. If you can take both French IV and history or another social science, do it, but if you can only switch one slot, remove AP Stats and take either language or social science.
I did US history in my summer and have already done Ap world history as a sophomore more.So would AP psychology be a good idea? Instead of stats or maybe the could do Ap music theory. The community college physics class is not during my school hours so I have to 6 classes at school and the physics class.
Sorry I meant sophomore year not more
