College Chances?

My college choices ranked by by my liking:
1. UC Riverside
2. Seton Hall University
3. CSU Northridge
4. San Francisco State
5. University of Nevada, Reno

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

Weighted GPA: 3.1
UC GPA: 3.0
SAT: 1470
Top 50% of my class
AP classes taken/taking: APUSH, AP Micro/Macroeconomics, AP Psychology, and AP Government & Politics

Major: Business Administration & Marketing
Minor: Merchandising (I want to be a retail buyer/future business CEO)

Extracurricular: 1 Year of JV Football, 1 Year of JV Track & Field, 3 Years Varsity Volleyball, 3 Year Member of Broadcast Journalism (Wolfpack TV), member of Black Student Union, Member of Model UN, and Marketing group for Anti-Bullying club

Awards: Scholar Athlete award w/ a 3.5 GPA, Scholar Athlete Award w/ a 4.0 GPA, P.R.I.D.E. Award, and "Most Improved Player" Award for Varsity Volleyball

What are my chances in getting to each of these colleges???

Only familar with California colleges, so I chance you on them:

UCR: Reach (You are just on threshold of meeting the UC GPA required for applying and only 11% acceptance at that GPA)

SFSU/CSUN: High Match

Thank you! I’m gonna take a shot and apply to UCR. I hope I get in!

Anyone else?

how do u have those athlete scholarships that require 4.0 and 3.5 when u have a 3.1 gpa?

anyway, ucr is a reach, and id say northridge is a match-high match. idk about the colleges sorry. Good Luck!!!

Good question @toesockshoe: I was going to ask the same question regarding the Scholar Athlete awards. My son received 2 also for 4.0 which means you have to have that cummulative GPA at the time of the award. Does not make sense???

UNR, SFSU and Northridge will probably take you. Just a guess.

@Gumbymom‌ @toesockshoe‌ my grades kind of dropped as I started to take advanced mathematics and AP classes junior year

Mostly because of sports and school-related activities

A downward trend in GPA is going to hurt you in the application process especially Junior year. You have a decent chance at both Cal States but you might want include one more Cal State to be on the safe side and have some good choices such as a non-impacted CSU like Monterey Bay, Channel Islands or San Marcos.
