College Choir recruiting

I don't know if this is a good thread for this, but I am wondeirng if universities give any recruiting preference to students who show skill and experience in singing in choirs, in particular High School Choirs?

Anyone know? If so any schools in particular this is of interest?

jtf123,

Recruiting may not be the right term here. There are few, if any, "recruited" musicians, even those at the conservatory level. This would also include some with significant competition wins, "from the Top" appearances, and those already performing professionally or semi-professionally.

Now, it IS possibly to get a scholarship at any number of smaller schools for ensemble participation, even if one is NOT a music major.

Please redirect your question to the Music Major form at CC. Plenty of knowledgeable posters with much experience and happy to share.

A current thread on a similar question to yours: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/593901-music-scholarships-liberal-arts-colleges.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/593901-music-scholarships-liberal-arts-colleges.html</a></p>

Thanks for the response and useful information
