Hi!
I am planning on majoring in Biology and being on the premed track. I was choosing my classes and was wondering if my schedule is too many morning classes and too many labs all at the same time.
My schedule is:
Monday- 8-9, Ecological Biology
9-10, Seminar course(required for all freshman students)
10-11, Psychology
1-4, Ecological Biology lab
Tuesday- 8:30-10, Principles of Chemistry
10-11, walking(no credits)
Wednesday- 8-9- Ecological Biology
9-10- seminar
10-11- psychology
2:30-4, Psychology lab
Thursday- 8:30-10, Principles of Chemistry
10-11, walking(wellness class)
Friday- 8-9, Ecological Biology
9-10, Seminar Course
10-11, Psychology
It adds up to give a total of 16 credits/week.
Is this manageable as a freshman student?
Iād take principles of chemistry later but I realize it may not be possible - other than that it looks like an excellent freshman schedule.
Really??? Thank you so much! I feel a bit relaxed now.
This is what the schedule looks like.

Do you have any T-Th Principles of Chemistry class available at 11:30 or 12 or 1pm?
@MYOS1634 , Unfortunately I have no Chemistry classes offered at those times. The thing I am scared of is running from one class to the other nonstop for three days.
It will be fine. My son had a schedule like that this year. He liked having things grouped together. Then he could have more time to study, relax etc without having to break. He is pre-vet but similar to pre med. Had bio and bio lab, chem and chem lab, honors english, intro to animal science, intro to animal science lab and intro to honors college. 16 hours total. (ended up with a 4.0 so definitely doable).
It actually looks a little light. You are only taking three classes and a seminar. Iām not sure how your school works, but most college students who are planning to graduate in 4 years take 4 classes excluding the seminar.
Maybe try to knock out one of your other core requirements like english or history.
Seminar can mean different things: at some colleges itās a 3-4 credit class that covers freshman composition as well as a specific subject or topic, at other colleges itās a 1-credit āskills to survive in collegeā class. Iām assuming op is taking a ācontent and compositionā seminar but op should specify.
@MYOS1634 ,The seminar is a specific subject class with 4 credits.
just do whatever you can manage. donāt allow for you to get consume too much with you got on hand. i know that is easier said than done, but if you feel like you canāt handle it, then remember going back doesnāt mean you donāt have a degree. focus on whatever you can.
i decided to take 17. Do yaāll think itās doable to take calculus A, principles of chemistry, symbiosis seminar(4 credits), intro psychology, and a writing class for freshmen?
And I will volunteer for 10 hours each week.
