haha, i just looked over the stuff this site offers, im curious as to whether anyone on here is stupid enough to pay these clowns money to help with their application.... 30,000 DOLLARS FOR ONE OF THEIR SERVICES??????

yeah, well, if ONE sucker pays 30K it's worth it...some online counselors cost $1000, it's the same as 30 of those customers. except this time it's only one dumb person...and if they're dumb enough to spend $1000 on an online counselor, who's to say they won't spend 30K...ok I admit 30 times that amount is quite a lot. no clue.

Considering this message board is offered for free, I don't think it is appropriate to call the host "clowns". There are many college and financial aid counselors available. Quality will vary, but the best are quite successful at suggesting colleges to their clients and presenting and application that will be noticed favorably at selective colleges. Can students and parents do this on their own? Probably, but many don't have the time or inclination to do the necessary research and thus will hire an expert. Expertise costs money - consider the billing rates for accountants and lawyers.

College Confidential does offer a "Stats Evaluation" for $89 that is quite informative and helpful.

dont defend college confidential... the message board is good, but their programs are a complete scam and not worth a dime

Man, i did everything by myself in this process/game, whatever you want to call it. My own research, essays, and so forth. And no one helped me with anything, not even my parents. I sought advice and got answers. If i get into an awesome school, I will be happy because "it was all me."
