Hello Everyone,
Currently I am a high school Junior who is starting to apply for colleges. I have been looking over the Common Application and noticed that there is a certain section that asks the student about college/university affiliated courses other than AP’s. I have already taken several AP classes but I haven’t taken any college courses at another university or online. Because of this, this section is going to appear virtually blank. I am applying to very selective schools. Is it normal to not have taken any college courses at a University? I know some students including friends of mine are taking a college course for a week at a University. Will it hurt my chances If I have not traveled to another University and participated in any courses? It’s already mid summer so I assume it is too late to apply and sign up for college courses at a University. Should I take college course online?. I’m not doing this just for colleges. I am generally interested in studying and participating in a college course. I am very motivated to learn and discover new ideas in a college course before I actually go to college. Time is getting crunched however and I might not have time to do this. Should I take a college course to fill this section of the Application?
You’re overthinking this. It’s not required and definitely not expected. Remember, this is the same app transfer students use.
