Hi, I don't really seem to understand how the credit system works in college. In High School it was one class is one credit, but I know in College/University it's different. Like 3 hours of class per week equal 3 credits.

so would 14 credit courses per semester be a descent course load?

Some liberal arts colleges still use 1 credit for a semester-long course (and 1/2 credit for a lab), but typically a regular university class is 3 credit hours for a semester. You’ll see classes ranging from 1 to 5 credit hours which kinda sorta reflects the number of classroom hours per week but not always, and it doesn’t reflect at all the number of hours you’ll put into the course outside of the classroom.
