College culture/life......US vs Canada.

So I will soon be applying to unis and I’m currently researching universities in US and Canada.Other than location and money, one of the factors for me is how is the experience in these two countries since I’ll be spending 4-6 years of my life over there .I know a little about the US that it’s very traditional over there.People don’t just study 24/7.Occasionally they go to parties and sometimes go to the movies and stuff. And there are sport events like college football and stuff.Students also join different clubs for social interaction. All in all,I know that in the US,college life is fun and it’s not just studying all the time.Activities like dorm parties and going to movies really held in keeping the experience socially active and it helps in making friends easily.

Is this type of experience unique to the US or is it similar in Canada too.
I’ve heard that people in Canada are more study oriented and not much into social activities like movies and parties and social clubs for colleges. Is it true?
Thanks.

@nafayazhar This is kind of true in a lot of countries. People like to make friends and do fun stuff (although college football is probably more of a US thing - I’m not into it much).

I have no idea where you heard this. Student life can vary greatly across university, dorm, or even dorm hall/suite.

I’ve only visited certain parts of Canada (BC, Niagara Falls), so I can’t say much regarding university life there. Better to disregard these claims or misconceptions and ask people who actually lived or went to college in Canada or the US.

And remember, college should be fun, in addition to learning well.
