do they play that 'right foot again, one hop this time' song at college dances?

lol, you mean the cha-cha? yeah, they do play it.

ughhh it always messes up my groove.

im all dancing away with some guy and then i have to get in a line and play simon says? bleh.

cha-cha slide is played everywhere at almost every dance or party event. GET USED TO IT lol

i was used to it until i heard it ONE MORE TIME at an indian grad party. enough already, i can cha cha real slow and go down low AND do the charlie brown.

sometimes i can reverse, too.

I never heard the song until I got to college. I went to an inner-city school where they would play rap 100% of the time.

yeah they even played it at my sister's wedding and she for sure did not ask them to.

hahahhah I love that song!

at my hs we would only hear rap 50% of the time. for whatever reason i think the djs wanted to get a diversity of music so they would play a lot of classic rock, but classic rock+hs style dancing=/=matching rhythms.

we'd also get a lot of techno, but that has a good beat.

I don't understand how you can dance properly to rock music. Dances should be 100% hip hop, rap, techno, and Latino music.

I wish dances were still comprised of swing, waltzes, and other real social dances, like back in the 50s.

Bumping and grinding and "freaking" or whatever is not dancing.

i remember i heard it for the first time at my college's orientation dance. i was so confused. everyone seemed to know what the song wanted them to do. i didn't, i was the confused international kid, who was already very shocked that by dancing, they mean grinding.

At my college orientation, there were these two kids who danced together like they were seriously dancing partners who had been dancing together for years. It was very, very cool. Also refreshing to see people who weren't just humping each other up and down the dance floor.

"everyone seemed to know what the song wanted them to do."

haha, i just imagine a sad, confused puppy dog look on your face as everyone turns it up...

FREEZE! EV-RY-BOD-Y CLAP YO HANDS

I can never remember what to do when that song comes on. I think it's meant to take the guess work out of dancing, but for me it has the opposite effect.

Another note on college dances - college dances that are only open to the student body are a real downer.

yeah man, happened to me--i was bumping and grinding and for some reason the DJ wanted to play the DAMN cha-cha slide. i was highly ****ed.

We had a dance for dorm people my freshman year, and they did play that song but they played lots of different music too. I and many of my friends swing dance so they got some jump jive and wail in there, and we did the animal house Shout thing, it was pretty great.

Hate the cha-cha slide at dances...any song that gives out instructions on how to dance is just annoying.

For those of you who don't want to wait for a dance or party to have your sliding pleasure!

ive never seen that dance look remotely cool until now.

my only conclusion is that every dance looks better when a bunch of black people do it.
