I got accepted to UC Berkeley and UC Davis, and if I were to choose based on prestige then I would go with Berkley, but I think I like Davis more and can see myself there. So my question is, if I choose Davis over Berkeley will I be doing myself a disfavor? I'm thinking about going to Law school after undergad, will a degree from Davis get me into a top law school as long as I do good? I know I'm thinking way ahead but I'm just wondering if a degree from Davis will get me as far as I want to go. I've worked really hard in high school and I feel like I deserve to go to Berkeley...yet im drawn to Davis.
I dont know if I make sense but Im just confused and unsure of what to do...
any advice?

Cal please. There is a substantial prestige difference between Davis and Cal.

Cal is an amazing opportunity. What exactly draws you more to Davis?

Student247- I just liked the strong community atmosphere and laid back feel that Davis had. Cal is obviously much more urban and I’m not sure I would enjoy that also cal is only 45 minutes from where I live…

For law school, the difference won’t matter, but you may change your career goal. If you try to get your first finance/business job out of undergrad, it will matter, so I would be somewhat wary at equal cost.

Ultimately, however, going where you are happy is more important, and your college likely won’t affect your success (your ability to get into a top college will make you likely to be successful, whether you actually attend or not). Be careful that you aren’t unduly privileging your very limited impression from a visit or two, though.
