College Design Major

Hi, I’m a current senior and I applied to design majors for my colleges. Yesterday, I just got rejected form my dream school, UCLA’s DESMA and i’m so heartbroken. I knew Ucla’s design media program is extremely hard to get into, but i’m still so sad. My next choices are USC’s Roski and NYU’s Tish. I’m waiting for those acceptances to comes out and see. I wanted to know if any of you guys know if their acceptance rate is lower or higher than DESMA and if I would have a shot of getting in.

Here are some of my stats.
SAT: 1350
Gpa: 4.0 unweighted, 4.5 weighted
Most major: National YoungArts Honorable Mention Design 2020 (this was supposed to be held at ucla this year :frowning: )

I was accepted into RISD, Pratt, Parsons, UCSD, USCS, UCI, UCD, UCR, RIT, LCAD, Chapman, etc. This is my first rejection so it kinda hit hard. I’m sorry for simping so much but I just had to get it out there. If anyones knows anything about Roski or Tish please let me know. If you want, I can also provide a link to my portfolio. Thank you for your time!

Hi! I am also a current senior who applied for UCLA’s DMA program and was rejected:( I applied for USC Design at Roski and am anxiously awaiting decision tomorrow. UCLA was my top but unfortunately it is so competitive. I believe USC Roski has an even lower acceptance rate than UCLA, however it focuses more on the student as a whole while UCLA looks at your portfolio as the deciding factor, then checks your grades and makes sure you meet the minimum requirements. It would be awesome to see your portfolio just for fun. You can try linking it but I don’t think college confidential allows you to link websites. Do you have an art insta or something?

How did you feel your portfolio was and essays were in general?

Hi yes, I can DM u. What is your instagram?
