Is anyone willing to edit 2 of my essays or give me advice? With less than a week to submit my app I would really appreciate the help!
I’m a bit discouraged at this point, any one else doing last min. apps or have last min app success stories they would like to share to restore my morale :((
I am with you in this application process and have definitely felt discouraged multiple times over, but then I eventually reach a point where I have hope again.
There is ALWAYS hope, and I hope that you can feel comfort in knowing that you will end up where you deserve to be and that there is always a way to thrive there.
As for the essays, if you are feeling like they are missing a “spark” or you feel like they do not really represent YOU, ask yourself this, “What do I love to do?” and “Did I write about ___?” “Did I convey my passion for _?”
I have found that the essays where I have written about something I truly care about, I am the most proud of.
All you can do is give this application process your best shot. Some things are out of our control, so it is in our best interest to only concentrate on what IS in our control.
Who cares about other CCers stats?
Who cares about what people say college admission officers will “want you to write about”?
No applicant is the same, and this should be comforting. Why? Because there is not an exact check list of credentials that an applicant must adhere to. This is your time to display yourself in a unique light, play up your strengths, and stand out from the crowd.
@am7311 LOL I am queen of last minute apps-- I literally have 12 schools/scholarships due January 1, and between them, maybe 30 supplements, and I’ve written 3. Feel free to say, "At least I’m not that kid. :))
I get what you’re saying about lacking inspiration, sometimes you just gotta power through and say, eh, these supplemebts suck but at least I got them dumb. Then sleep on it and reread after some rest, and you may find your thoughts have aligned themselves and you know what you want to write. No good essay was ever a first draft, so just write!
You should consider editing your essay in ■■■■■■■■■■ Instead. I chose Brian, the most popular editor in the website, for my editor. Brian washed and polished my admissions essay and made it look more impressive. It looked like Brian also had track records of successful admissions for essays that he edited. I am sure he can help what you need.
