Michigan offense looked solid. Defense was deplorable. 400 yards given up, missed tackles, etc. Eliminate the fumbles and NIU would have scored at least 27. Teams like OSU will not fumble and it will all come down to speed and power, which the Mich. defense now lacks.

Like Cherry said, if they play like that against OSU, my high school track and field buddy Ted Ginn, Jr. is gonna have a field day with that defense.

That's why it's the first game of the season, and teams never schedule hard opponents. Teams need to tune up, and do that against sub-top 25 teams.

Michigan will destroy notre dame on Saturday in the big house. Charlie Weis is good, but Pitt and Michigan are not the same team. Especially after the fluke last year, Henne, Hart, Grady, Avant, Breaston, and Massaquoi will lead the nation's most potent offense in a viscious attack against that has been, right wing "school" in south bend, IN. I hope ohio state beats texas so people stop *****ing about how the big ten sucks (yes they still do that), and I want to see the hype of both Michigan and osu going into the biggest game of the year undefeated, and of course, Michigan will win.

I am suprised at how good Texas is....their qauterback is pretty darn good.....and the maimi- FSU game was great.....I am surprised that maimi missed the last field goal....I think Notre Dame improved so much this year....apart from the dull offense of last year...

The Miami - FSU game was garbage. Both teams were absolutely terrible on offense. Both teams had first and goal inside the 5, and didn't come away with any points. It was a battle of who shot themselves in the foot less, and that was Florida State.

Sadly I have to agree with the USC predictions... They're just to strong right now to have any serious competition at the moment. But remember it only takes one mistake against another decent school, and the SC streak would be history.

The FSU qauterback sucked..so the Miami quaterback, but he made some plays down the line..if they didnt sack Kyle Wright 9 times, they probably wont have won the game....

Yeah the Miami fsu game, while entertaining, was ugly. USC will make it to the camphionship game because they have one of the easiest, most bs schedules in the country, and since they will not have any competition-the closest being notre dame (who will lose to Michigan and Tennesse)-they will lose the Rose Bowl to whoever they play (Michigan).

Vince Young is horribly, horribly overrated. Either of OSU's two QBs (Zwick, Smith) would be even better in Texas's offense. Buckeyes will easily win and beat the spread on Saturday. This is the first 5 star lock of the year. Hawk, Schlegiel, and Carpenter (OSU linebacking corps) will singlehandedly end Young's Heisman hopes.

The U of M/Notre Dame game will be interesting. I love Notre Dame, but I don't see them winning in the big house. If this game was in South Bend, I would say take the Irish, because Michigan sucks on the road. If Quinn can get ND's offense going good against Michigan's sorry Defense, they have a shot. The key to this game is ND's defense.

I think Vince Young can live up to the hype. He played great in the LA-Layatte game but that didnt say much since it was a blowout. But I think Texas has a very tough schedule. They have to play Ohio State, Texas Tech, and OSU. So does Michagan. USC has a relatively easy schedule. The only semi-challenging teams would be Notre Dame and UCLA.

U of M's defense looked porous at times against NIU. With the way ND played last Saturday, the U of M/ND game might turn out to be a surprising shootout. I still say U of M wins in the Big House though.

I believe the Texas/OSU game will be a low scoring game (this coming from a diehard OSU fan) decided by the defenses and the offenses that make the least number of mistakes. It'll be a close one, but I think the Bucks will pull through in the end.
