Hello, I transferred from CC to a four year university and I was wondering which college grades matter to an employer.

When calculating undergrad gpa do you include all college class grades? What about classes that have been retaken. Do I replace the grades or average it when showing the grades to a potential employer?

Thanks

Just grades at the school you are at now. If you have JUST transferred you can show your GPA from the CC if you want. Once you have grades from the new place you show those. So if you had a 4.0 at a CC(not really that big of a deal) and you don’t have any grades at your new place you can show that so they don’t think you’ve got like a 2.0.

Obviously you should look at your school’s career website or some place else for pointers on how exactly to put this all down. Also if you earned an Associates Degree at the CC you can always keep that on there.

The above advice is ridiculous.

It varies from school to school but many schools WILL factor in your 2 year gpa, especially if it’s within the same state and part of the same system. Your first employer will not just look at your grades, but your TRANSCRIPTS. Also colleges have different policies on retaken classes. utk averages them while mtsu replaces them. just for example.

Why the hell would any reputable school include transferred GPA as part of their calculation? This would grant substantial benefit to those that transfer form community colleges.
