I often found that the usual college guides like Fiske or Princeton Review were geared to the high achieving student. They contained a wealth of info on schools like Cornell- U. Michigan- and all the other usual suspects. But if you wanted more indepth info on a school like SUNY Cortland-Temple- or smaller state colleges you were out of luck. Since there is a lack of info for the "average" student, it is probably even more difficult to get good reference books for kids with learning differences and challenges. So I thought it might be a good idea to pool our resources together.

Some books that I came across include- The K&W Guide to Colleges for Students with Learning Disabilities or ADD- published by Princeton Review

America's Best Colleges for B Students by Tamra B Orr. Each school would state the "B Features"- which would include Academic/skills centers, tutoring and workshops .

Just an afterthought. I also like the Colleges of Distinction website. Alot of good-free info. The schools listed may not be geared primarily to the learning challenged, but it has an extremely nice array of small to mid size colleges that seem to have alot to offer. And may offer an environment where you kid will thrive.

And my final piece of advise, if your kid is struggling with the SAT, have them try the ACT test. For my d, it was a lifesaver.
