Has anyone here gone to the Cleveland Institute of Art? And is it worth it? I am looking into a drawing major but I am unsure because I have heard don’t go into a major for something you do in your free time. I am just worried that I will end up underemployed, or just no job or any source of income if I choose a major like that, and besides art, I don’t really know what else to look into for majors!
I know someone who goes there. She’s my daughter’s friends’ sister, so I don’t know her enough to have talked to her about the school. I will say that she is an AMAZING artist; truly amazing, and drawing and art was something she was doing since childhood, and excelling at. She’s probably in her 3rd or 4th year and still there, and I think her mom mentioned some kind of incredible sounding internship or project she had landed. So it sounds like it’s working for her! But as for being an art major, sure it’s one of those majors that have a higher risk of being underemployed. Take heart in the fact that it really is OK to not know what you want to major yet in high school, and that many many college students change their major, too.
@TS0104 Thank you so much!!
My daughter was accepted there. We visited and the work that we saw was amazing. She was looking at Industrial Design and ended up somewhere else but we were very impressed with the facilities.
