So I plan on going to UF or UCF to get a bachelors degree in finance. I am dual enrolled so I attend both high school and college at the same time. I am a senior. I will be getting my associates degree by the end of the fall semester 2014. After that I will transfer to hopefully UF. If/when I get my bachelors in finance at UF, I want to transfer to a top tier business school. I was thinking NYU maybe. Idk if I would be able to get into harvard or Stanford or a school like that being that those schools are extremely hard to get into and the money you have to pay is a lot obviously. I just think NYU would be the safest bet. Is NYU a good target school for hedge funds? I want to eventually work in a hedge fund but I understand that usually after you graduate you go in an investment banking program for a bit. Usually about 2 years and then you go into a hedge fund. Can anyone give me any advice about my career path?

As always, look into the top companies in the field then go to their website to find out who are the top people in the department you’d like to work for. They usually give a little biography which can give their college/ grad school history. That’s the way to go. Bridgewater has positions straight out of college- no need grad school to get a foot in the door for a junior position. They also do internships. I’d really heavily recommend doing these as they can lead to offers of jobs on graduation.

Going to grad school, look into the tuition waivers and scholarships that each school offers.
