College Help :)

<p>Hey!</p>

<p>I am a junior in high school, and based on my following profile, what are the chances of me getting into a good Medical School or 6/7 year Medical program at schools like NYU, Penn State, Boston University, UGA, Vanderbilt, Duke, or any other good college with a decent scholarship?</p>

<p>GPA: 3.7 (unweighted)</p>

<p>SATI: 1920
- Math: 700
- CR: 570
- Writing: 640</p>

<p>ACT and SATII still need to take</p>

<p>Classes and Averages: Chamber Orchestra, AP World, AP Calc AB, AP Physics B, AP Lang, AP US History, (will take the following senior year) AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Lit, AP Calc BC, AP French</p>

<p>Volunteering at Hospital, Temple, Summer Camp
Job at Little Caesars over the summer</p>

<p>I was also nominated for governors honors program for french, but didnt make it in.</p>

<p>I have been in Les Miserables (a school play)
Also im a member of the Dance Team, Beta Club, Multicultural Club, French Club, National French Honor Society, National Music Honor Society, and the School Orchestra</p>

<p>I want to be a pediatrician becaues i love working with kids!!</p>

<p>It would really be great if anyone can give me an idea of good colleges or just a basic outlook on the next steps i should take!</p>

<p>Med school is after you do regular 4-year college. Your HS stats aren’t a big factor into your admission in these schools a few years down the line. But first, you have to go to a regular undergraduate college, do the necessary courses required, and make sure you have a HIGH GPA from those schools. Med-Schools are really hard to get into, but they take into account your college career and MCAT scores. Look into this stuff online and get a better feel of what courses, GPA’s, and MCAT scores will be required.
A great number of people looking to go into medicine end up being REJECTED from every single med school they apply to. It will be tough, but if you really want to do it, it starts in college…you have to perform there.</p>

<p>He is talking about an accelerated program. There are only a select universities that have them. It is very selective, only room for 20-30 people. Unless you have a 4.0 gpa and took all ap classes and won a lot of awards, you wont get in. Your best bet would be to go to an accelerated program outside of the US . Try lublin.</p>
