College Information Sessions?

I'm a junior, and I've been RSVPing to a lot of college info sessions lately. It seems like I'll be attending at least one a week from here on out. Are they actually helpful? Should I go to every single one near me that is held by a college I like to some degree? Or should I just go to a handful and save my info-gathering for when I actually visit colleges I want to attend?

I went to a couple of them with my son and the info sessions are pretty much the same. You can probably get all that info on their website. When we do college visits, we do so for the actual campus tour so we can see what kind of facilities they have. I am also particularly interested in the dorms so I make sure that it is offered on the student guided campus tours. I find that so much more interesting anyway than the info sessions.

Okay, thanks for the input! I just felt the need to register for a bunch of info sessions since my high school hosts visits from (in my opinion) the worst schools possible I won’t be getting out to visit colleges I like until summer, and I didn’t want to wait until then to meet admissions counselors. Maybe I’ll just go to the ones that are so close to home that they won’t be a bother, and plan for more time to go visit schools and take tours during breaks.

Are these lunchtime or evening info sessions?
I wouldn’t miss a lot of school as a junior to attend sessions for schools you aren’t particularly interested in.

These are evening and weekend sessions. For example, I’m going to a Yale session at a high school nearby on Wednesday night, and then an Emory one at a hotel on a Sunday afternoon. So, I’m not missing any school for these.
