These results are hilarious. I guess college truly is what you make it, haha.

Yeah, the guy from UAB was smart. The guy from Princeton was too, but overvalued final jeopardy. He was racking em really early. I got all but one of the ACC Q's from before double jeopardy. Forgot about GA Tech for whatever reason :P

How bout that girl from Duke? She was terrible.

damn, when's stanford gonna be on?

Time and station por favor!!!!

7:00 EST on ABC...how can you not know!?!?!?! Jeopardy has been on for centuries!!

Um, Jeopardy is syndicated, so different places have it on different stations and different times. For me, its 7 on CBS, and ABC.

for me it's 7:30 on UPN!

Mine is on at 7:00 on ABC [7].

Mine is on 7:30 on NBC.

mines 4:30 on cbs

Hmm...well I'm working tonight, so maybe tommorow...

first time i've been able to see it and my schools on...and wins...GO stanford.

stanford, nyu, and maryland were on today. the final jeopardy subject was "2005 commencement speeches". the clue was something like "this dude spoke at his alma mater and said to make money, donate to charities, and stay in maine". maryland and nyu got it wrong. the answer was stephen king. go nico!

Damnit I need to remember to watch! Has Cornell been on yet?

Cornell's not in it, the 15 colleges were:
BU, Duke, Gonzaga, NC Central, NC State, NYU, Princeton, Purdue, Stanford, U Alabama - Birmingham, UMD - College Park, UMich - Dearborn, UNC - Chapel Hill, U Rochester, and WUSTL

And the top 9 are:
BU, Gonzaga, NC State, NYU, Purdue, Stanford, U Alabama - Birmingham, UMD - College Park, and WUSTL

Too bad Caltech isn't in it. I know this kid going there who went to my school and was ranked #1 in the nation in academic challenge. He's the smartest guy I've ever met and has been trying to get on jeopardy for a while to no avail.

This tournament is a replay from last year, right? I could've sworn I saw Nico before..

yeah he won earlier this year around feb., but i didn't see any of those episodes. but i'm not sure if it's the same tournament b/c in the little bit where they say something about themselves, nico talked about a concert he went to "earlier this summer".

It's not a question of Caltech being in it or not. Individual students try out for College Jeopardy, not schools or official representatives of schools. You must be a current undergrad student at the school. And they won't pick two from the same school in the same year, but other than that I don't know of any other restrictions. Any number from one school can try out, but no more than one will be chosen to play.

If your Caltech friend thinks he can win, he should try out. Or perhaps he did try out and wasn't chosen. They look for more than just someone who can pass the test - you also have to be able to work the buttons well, answer the interview questions articulately, and show a little personality on camera. It also doesn't hurt if you happen to be a cute girl who also knows her stuff.

I think it's the same tournament. I actually remember the WUSTL guy being in the finals as well, and I could never forget the Alabama guy's accent. But yay, go Nico.
