i have read the threads but no one has asked what i am wondering -
what are students like at USC? how easy is it to make friends? how liberal or conservative does it feel? are campus activities well attended? what about diversity?
am interested in the School of CInematic Arts or School for Communication.

thanks so much.

I'm getting ready to attend this fall and reading those threads about idealogies kinda concerns me. I'm afraid I won't fit in because I'm so liberal. Now I'm doubting myself and wondering if I should've decided on UCLA or Berkeley

You will find a place to fit in regardless of your political preference. There is definitely a larger presence of liberal students on campus though, and they seem to be more vocal than the conservative students. USC was once considered a conservative school, but I don't think that's the case anymore.

srabiee90,
SC has a diverse student body. There are about 600 student organizations which reflect many points of view and interests. Here is a partial list of recognized student organizations. These are in no particular order: Free Culture USC, Gay & Lesbian Association, Friends & Queers at Annenberg, Anarchist Book Club, Environment First, Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance, Pagans Wicccams at USC, Women's Creative Collective for Change, Queer Action, Green Institute for Village Empowerment, Invisible Children at USC, USC College Democrats and Students for a Free Tibet.

hey, you'll be fine! there are alllll types of people on campus and if you look for your type of people you will find them, its cheesy, but dont be fake to who you really are and you will find good friends who are like you. there are plenty of conservative snobs at sc but trust me its very easy to not be bothered by them. there are also PLENTY of hilary and obama supporters and many other liberals around (including me!)

I simply can't resist. There are all types of people at SC. In fact, as part of your growth in college YOU may find that the "conservative snobs" aren't snobs, but nice people who have a different political agenda.

And there are plenty of liberal snobs, I could name names but that would start a flame war. I am in the middle of sorts, and the zealots on both side of the isle annoy me equally.
