College life VS School life

What do you think college life is better then school life ?

For most kids, college represents many firsts: independence, exploration, etc. But it also represents a transition from set path (the next expected thing) to choices and uncertainty. You don’t need to know what’s next right away, but over the four yrs you’ll develop some interests that guide you. There is generally a lot of support on campus (career center, counselors, etc.) that can help you find your path.

Depending on area of study, there are natural career paths with ample recruiting. So some of it is just following the path. Other areas of study require more creativity.

At the end of the day, this is an exciting time for personal growth and to start doing things because you want to, not simply because of other’s expectations.

In school you are basically considered a child. In college, you are a young adult, usually a dependent one but still an adult. It is a time to grow and take on more responsibilities toward being a fully independent adult. As high school students, my kiddos would sometimes wish they could go back to the easy of elementary school. But they see that college life has the freedom granted to adults. Adults make choices, suffer consequences, and plan for long term rewards.

I find college life to be easier than school life. College life gives you more freedom when picking your schedule and gives you more time outside of class. School life can get really stressful especially if you have a class you don’t like because you have to attend it 5 times a week. The only time I would see college life to be harder than school life would be if having that much freedom is more than you can handle and if you are bad at managing your time well.
