I’m interested in Brown, which is a “bubble inside a city”, and Brandeis, which has a campus about 10 minutes outside of Boston. I was wondering if any other schools were similar and have a “bubble” or campus outside of town, but easy access to a city.
The Claremont campuses are not too far from LA (and train station right in town makes it easy to get there). Macalester is in the Twin Cities, Reed is in Portland.
There are lots of threads on CC on this topic…some that come to mind quickly that are near an urban area or that have a clearly defined campus in an urban area. some offhand I can thnk of on the east coast are BC, Gtown, American, Fordham, Vandy, Emory, URichmond, Tulane, Villanova, Tufts, Providence, Johns Hopkins, UMiami, WashU, …
Honestly I’d suggest you get a good college guide book (ex. Fiske, Princeton Review) which you should be able to find in your guidance office or a library and start looking for different schools that fit this criteria – you will find a number of great options or you can go through the USNWR ranking online and pick out schools in/near urban locations to research further.
