College Mail

If a specific college doesn’t send you an application, is that an early indication that they sorta aren’t interested in you applying to their school?

bttttttttttttt. Come On! EVERY SCHOOL WANTS YOU TO APPLY. They want your money and to lower their admit rates. Why would you expect every college to send you apps? Can't you see how expensive that would be? Most of the schools that send you mail are below your academic worth and are DESPERATE for you to come to their school.

I agree with drummerdude. What do you mean, though, that it hasn't sent you an app. Have you asked for it, or what?

If you requested it and it hasn't arrived, then it's probably an administrative error, or maybe it's in the mail right now. If you didn't request it, you can't expect them to read your mind and guess that you want to apply to their college, so you should request their application so they can send it to you.

I'm going to be starting at UCLA in the fall and the first thing I ever got in the mail from them was my acceptance letter.

Even if a school does not want you, they'll be more then happy to take your money.

Hey, don't kid me. I've got mails from Harvard and Yale, but not the schools I am actually planning to apply to.

Heythatslife, you got those Ivy mails most likely because you go to an elite prep school. And an international one at that, guessing from your location. I think the Ivies prey on the not-quite-good-enough-for-Harvard prep school kids, becasue then they will think they have a chance and apply. You will also be mailed if you are a URM or development case. But for the white, middle class, nonmagnet public school kid, the main schools that mail you are, by and large, crappy. The one exception to me was something from West Point, but perhaps with a war going on they are lacking in willing recruits.

I got mail from Ivies, (a sick joke) and I certainly don't go to an elite prep school, (think the rural version of inner-city) and my scores weren't even that good. I guess they prey on everyone who is ever so slightly above mediocrity regardless of where they go to school.

Yes the ivies give me mail as a sick joke. There like ooooh you're a minority we're going to prey on your soul by making you think with your substandard test scores you can get in. So we can lower our admit rate. Just because you're black. Really I'm sure that's it. There is no way 4/8 ivies would send me mail if I wasn't a urm.

lol, the orginal poster can't take a hint...

ShadowofEnigma, must be. UChicago mailed me somethin today.

hey I'm black and got a sucky score on the SAT (1180) and I didn't get mail from the ivies!!!
