College Major - need advice

Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice on business majors for my S. He is a rising high school senior who has good stats. He knows that he wil be applying to some top schools... a few Ivies, U of Chicago, Duke, etc.. What he doesn't know is exactly what he wants to study... he is interested in something having to do with engineering but with an emphasis in business. Can anyone give me some advice as I am unsure myself.

Also, he has a list of about 8-10 schools that he is interested in but those schools are reaches for everyone regardless of stats. Can anyone suggest some good schools that he could apply to that would be a safety for him. Stats include: Hispanic male, ranked 2 out of 450, ACT-34, NHS President, Golf Captain 4 years, along with summer jobs, other extracurriculars, and plenty volunteer hours. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Keep in mind that a lot of “new Ivies” (Duke, Chicago) and all but Cornell and UPenn do not offer comprehensive undergad business programs. With those stats, UVA-McIntire, UNC, BC, NYU, Michigan, and Cal-Haas probably offer the best prospects as safety schools in business.
