I'm having a problem thinking of more match and safety schools that I can apply to. Most of the schools that i keep thinking of/that I like are either too expensive and/or really hard to get into. I live in Pennsylvania, and I will need financial aid from the college I go to. I got a 2250 on my SATs (720 CR, 750 Math, 780 Writing) and I'm taking my SAT IIs in October. My weighted GPA is around 4.15 and my unweighted is around 3.9. I do not know what I want to major in, but I'm thinking about something like Marketing or Communications (PR). I don't want to do anything math or science-based, and I would much rather do something that involves creativity. Most of my extracurriculars are in the arts as well (choir and theater), so it's important to me that the college I go to has these programs (and preferably strong programs). I know that it's a lot but help me please? So far my list consists of:

Reach Schools:
Tufts University (maybe)
Lehigh University
UPenn (maybe)
Swarthmore (maybe)

Match Schools:
Boston University

Safety Schools:
University of Delaware
University of Pittsburgh (maybe)
Penn State (maybe)

As you can see, most of them are maybes because I am extremely indecisive :(

EC’s:
Select choirs (Women’s Ensemble and Chamber Choir, many years), school musical (many years), school play, community theater, county choir, district choir, regional choir, acolyte at church, two different part-time jobs (at different times), Thespians club, NHS, used to take dance lessons (also on the competition team)

Transcript:
In 9th and 10th I got all A’s and took a bunch of Honors, but no AP’s (the only one we could take was History and I chose to take two honors science classes instead)

Junior - AP Physics (B+), AP Calc AB (A-), AP Lang (A), Honors History (A), French 4 Honors (A-, I hated French), Choir, Living Independently (I know… it was a filler class because I couldn’t take Psych)

Senior - AP Stat, AP Macro, AP Lit, AP Bio, Choir, Psychology, PEN (gifted program)

I’m not a NMSF - I didn’t do that well on my PSATs, even though I didn’t study for my SATs either and I did better? I suppose it’s because the SATs are curved.

And yeah, Pitt is one of my safety schools because, even though it’s a great school, I would like to go to a school that’s a little more difficult to get into, academically. But if I did end up going there, I would be fine with it.

And other suggestions? I do like schools that are medium-sized and near cities! (But not NYU, that was a little too overwhelming)

Ok, I was typing as you were… still, merit or need-based?

U Rochester is good with music - they have theater options, but I’m not as up on how good they are with it. I would suspect their marketing is quite good. They are a school where you can mainly take what you like and not worry about what you don’t like. Pending CSS Profile, they meet close to 100% need and they offer merit aid. They are medium sized and in a city (but with their own campus) and are tougher to get into than Pitt.

Fordham offered a bit of aid to some students I know and they love it there. I’ve never asked about music/theater options (nor how good their marketing or PR are, but I suspect they’d be ok).

BU is right in the city, similar to GW or NYU. You might look at Fordham - Rose Hill which has a traditional campus in the Bronx with easy access to Manhattan (you might get a good bit of merit aid there).

And I know, I visited both BU and NYU. What I meant was that BU felt more like a college, whereas NYU seemed like you were just thrown into the middle of the city. It didn’t have a campus-like feel, if that makes sense…

Fordham has great communications and a great business program. They aren’t great with financial aid and have scaled back on merit aid this year, but you should definitely consider it. Ymmv.
