Accepted to Berkeley!! Narrowed down choices to top three : Brandeis, JHU (BME), Berkeley

I got into the College of Chemistry, is anyone else in that? or any current students?

How is it different than School of L&S? How competitive?

Any information will be appreciated! =)

C of C is much smaller than L&S, and it's been recognized as the most friendly-to-undergrads college on campus (by the ASUC). It's competitive, and there's a high attrition rate. HOWEVER, once you're in upper-divs, most students get to know one another (you see the same chem, chemE people frequently).......and there is even a chemistry/chemE fraternity: AXE. How lame can a fraternity of chemistry people be, I can only imagine. It's more of a professional society.

i'm going to the college of chem next year as a chem major

Is it easier to transfer from the C&C to the L&S than the other the other way around?

yes, it's extremely easy to transfer into L&S, but much harder to transfer out into other schools which are impacted.

Is it easy to change majors within the college of chem, such as from chemistry to chemE?

I think it's easy to do so......you just have to talk to old man Strauss, PhD (and professor emeritus)......that dude is so cool (He's the Dean of Students)
