I was just wondering what GPA is generally needed to get accepted to UT Austin’s College of Education??
I’m a transfer student, a freshman at a community college and planning on transferring next fall, and I don’t know what my official GPA is right now, but it’s definitely not looking great.
You need to post this on the UT forum. Look in the left hand column of this page and click the “Colleges and Universities” tab. Simply follow it to the UT forum. Could you be more specific when you say not looking great. What are your intentions with a education degree. I ask because UT would not be a good investment if your going to be a teacher. You could go to a cheaper school and your pay is going to be the same as a teacher. I would think there are not many people seeking a education degree from UT unless they plan on going into administration. I could be totally wrong I admit.
@Grainraiser No, I have not taken any of those, at least it’s unofficial. I will be having 31 credit hours. It seems that they messed up my transcript, and will be fixing it soon. I should be able to have an overall GPA of 3.5 if they do fix it if I cap in all A’s next term and take a Maymester class. But I just want to know what the overall GPA college of Education generally accepts.
There is a post on the UT thread that gives the stats for 2016 transfer students. The poster was a transfer student and she says the office of admissions allowed her to take a picture of the stats with her cell phone. The average GPA for a education major was 3.74
Look on the left side of this page and click on the colleges and universities tab under top forums. Click on the letter “T” under the alphabetical listing and then click on the University of Texas tab. Find the 2016/2017 Austin transfer tread and go to post #124. Good luck to you.
