College of Engineering Chances?

Hey wolverines! I am currently thinking about applying to the College of Engineering, but don't know if I qualify since I originally planned on going to LSA. I am thinking that a biomed engineering major+premed would be my best undergrad option since I plan on applying to medschool after. Anyways, it would be really helpful if someone could chance me.

I am a white male who lives instate.

My GPA is 4.0 according to how Umich calculates it (4.1 weighted/3.98 UW)

ACT: 31 composite(32 math, 30 reading, 31 english, 29 science)

My class rank is somewhere between 5 and 8 out of 700 students

My curriculum consisted of only AP+honor courses

My AP scores as of my junior year are a 5 in world history, us history, chemistry, and government. I got a 4 in both econs and english lang.

I plan on taking the tests for APES, AP Calc BC, AP Physcis C: E/M and Mechanics, AP Bio, and AP Eng lit.

I am in NHS, Science Olympiad, and Key Club and have done ~100 service hours through them. I have ran a business, and I build computers for people.

That's basically my resume, but I have a decent amount of other E.C. stuff that I didn't include.

Thanks, ahead of time, to whoever spends their time and chances this.

P.S. This is my brother's account (currently a freshmen wolverine), so don't go all witch-hunt on me :p

I would say you’re in. You have a high UW GPA and your ACT is pretty good. Plus you are in state.

How does your school weight honors and AP courses? It seems like if your whole curriculum was honors and AP, and you got a 3.98 UW, your W GPA should be a lot higher.

Thanks for the feedback. They don’t weight any honors courses, and the way they weight APs are still a mystery to us students.

If you apply EA, I like your chances. I would not say you are definitely in, but your chances are very good.

You are golden. Don’t slack off too much on the essays though just in case.

No, you are golden…

My recs should be really solid, and I think my essays will be top-notch.
