Has anyone gone to one of these? My son recieved an email invite for him and his family. Is it ok to bring younger siblings?
Haven’t been to NC State but other ones not really a. Big deal but to be honest this is all about your college bound student. If you can leave the other children home that would be better or if you can do something else with them… But depending on age. If they are in like 7th grade this can be a great motivator.
Call NC State and see what their rules for the event are.
Thanks @Knowsstuff I will contact NC State after the holiday
I’d be surprised if it was so formal that children were not allowed.
Whether the college allows children or not, I would be concerned if they were too young. Children under 11 might get quickly bored and prove to be too distracting to you and your son. My son prefers that we leave his younger siblings home so he and I can focus solely on the visit. He does not mind the 13 year old being there, because she’s quiet and patient and actually seems interested in the college visit herself. However, my 11 year old loses interest 15-20 minutes into the visit and after that happens, my attention is divided between my son’s college visit and my 11-year old child.
Good luck with your visit!
Update: NC state suggested not to bring younger siblings .
