I am attempting to get into U mich engineering. This last Act I got a 31C 31e 31m 31r 29s(meh). I know very low scores but I am a sophomore so I have some time for improvement. I was wondering should I go for a 36 in math and leave the rest of the subjects at about 30? Would that be more impressive or would an overall higher Act score bring more attention to my application?
Thanks!
Math is the most important component and you should work on improving it.
You still have time to improve your test score.
You have plenty of time to prepare for all subjects, including focusing on math. Why do you think it’s an either/or? My S got a 36 in math (35c) after a lot of test prep but had a bunch of Bs early on that have hurt his GPA and rank…don’t forget about those things, because they take longer to “fix” and can’t be overlooked even with a good ACT.
Because I plateau at around 31 for the other subjects. My math has been increasing alot thats why I think I can get a 36 on it. (26 to 31). The rest have always been 29-31 nothing higher
