Currently I am undecided as to which major I want to go into at BU’s college of engineering. Is it beneficial for my to specify a certain major (Chemical, Electrical, etc) opposed to staying undecided when it comes to admissions chances? If so, which major is the easiest to get into knowing it is pretty easy to transfer majors once accepted.

Thanks!

This is quite a difficult question to answer because they do not share information on admissions based on the different engineering majors. I have noticed that the Biomedical Engineering Majors I know have very good stats (take this with a grain of salt because it’s not like I know all of the BME majors). IMHO, I really do not think that it makes a large difference, I know many people that are undeclared and had okay stats. So as long as your stats meet the average GPA, SAT or ACT scores you should be okay. The college of engineering has been recently admitting more students because the retention rate is not that great. BTW there is no chemical engineering.
