I am going to be a longhorn come this fall but I’m not really sure what to expect as far as classes and grades. Im sure every professor and class has a different level of intensity but can any former and current longhorns give me an idea on what to expect grade-wise for courses such as calculus, intro to bio and principles of chemistry
To be honest, “what to expect grade-wise” is pretty vague to respond to. Are you wondering “how much studying did you do and what grade did you end up with,” “how are grades calculated in the syllabi,” or something like “what are test averages for the first exam and the last?”
Make an account on MyEdu and then select The University of Texas at Austin and you can look up grade distribution reports. I can only speak on calculus (of the ones you listed) and there is multiple versions of calculus. M 408C is the accelerated version which usually has stronger math students. The M 408C/D route is basically 3 semesters worth of calculus crammed into 2 semesters. There’s also the 3 semester calculus sequence which is slightly easier but still neither of them are extremely easy for most people. People who aren’t great at math (most people) usually have to spend a lot of time in tutoring to do well.
