College of Santa Fe adopts new identity | Santa Fe, N.M. | KRQE News 13

I'm still not exactly sure what's going on, but I believe the school had been going through some financial troubles and had close in 2009. It looks like it's back up and running again and has a new name, The Santa Fe University of Art and Design.

A tiny bit of info here, in posts 7 & 8

My recollection is that ongoing money issues were the root cause, and these were exacerbated when the bottom fell out of the economy. I also recall some talks in progress about folding it into the NM public system, or the alternative of being absorbed within another local institution. There was some pretty upfront info on the college’s website during the process, but that’s long gone. There may be a thread or two in CC’s search forum; I seem to recall one.

Anyone seriously interested in the program now should note that the link you cite indicates that it is no longer a not for profit entity, but part of a for profit corporation.

Again, anyone looking into these programs must realize that they do not constitute the bulk of colleges and universities discussed on CC. It’s important to do your homework and investigate fully, and to realize you are comparing apples and oranges.
