College Options

I was wondering if it would be better to go to a top school like Johns Hopkins for say $40,000 a year or a solid, but not top program like ASU for say $10,000? I want to major in engineering and am top of my high school class. I don't know what to do, so any opinions would be nice. Thanks!

Most people don’t actually pay the sticker price.

Why not wait and see if you get into Johns Hopkins first?

^ Actually, more than half at JHU pay full sticker price. The Common Data Set shows they have 5047 students, 2306 were awarded some need based aid (and that includes some who just got loans), and 57 were awarded non-need based aid.

OP, JHU costs about $60K for just tuition, room and board. You really think you can get $20K off? And as long as the program is ABET accredited your engineering school should be fine.
