College packing list?

Oh yes, bring Condoms for sure.
JK JK JK
I think they are available in the student activities centres for free.

is water boiler/heater or coffee maker allowed in dorms?

I believe they now have wifi for Tioga Hall, they had good wifi for Tenaya Hall last year. The ethernet connection is extremely fast at Muir (I lived in Tenaya), so I would use that instead(<a href=“Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test”>Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test). I had a 10 feet cable, because I arranged my room before I realized the plug was behind my bed. Therefore, the length depends on how you arrange your room.

I don’t know whether Water boiler/heater is allowed or not, but many people had it.

i thought i remembered visiting one of warren’s laundry rooms and seeing the washers/dryers only take cards (tritoncash? i’m assuming) but now that i think about it, that probably wouldn’t make sense since tritoncash is optional right?

No, you’re right, I heard the machines also can be swiped with your card if it has triton

cash on it, I’m definitely going to dedicate some money to my card just for laundry from my

normal checkings account haha.

hmm anyone know anything about halogen lamps? i have A lamp…but i’m not sure if it’s halogen or not. and i’d rather not buy a new one if i can avoid it. but i was reading up, and the bulb is surrounded by metal, so the lamp itself does tend to heat up a good amount, which is what i hear halogen lamps do. BUT i think it just heats up as much as any other bulb/lamp would so…any advice?

oh and are there stoves for the suites? like in case we want to make stuff (like eggs) in the morning. and how many kids bring things like blenders and coffee makers?

I remember reading that halogen lamps aren’t allowed in the dorms but don’t quote me on that, because I’m not 100%. Why would you want one anyway they are terrifying and they burn you if you accidentally bump into it with your hand! (personal experience on this one!)

Yes - multiple suites will share a kitchen area, which basically just contains a sink and a stove. You can also buy eggs at the dining halls… they make them however you want haha and it’s a lot faster and more convenient. No one in my suite had either a blender or a coffee maker, but I’m sure some people do.

PS. 500th post helll yeah :)

i didn’t say i wanted one…i just don’t know if the one i have is a halogen or not. because of the fact that the dorms don’t allow them. i don’t want to have to buy a new lamp if i can avoid it.

halogen lamps aren’t allowed

sarahh, just GOOGLE it.

i did! and i have even have a yahoo question after the fact. but there’s no information that’s really concrete enough to tell me whether it is or not. but i’ll just get a new one if that’s what it comes down to.
