This may be a little early, but can someone list the typical necessities you need to pack when you move in during the fall?

…you have a lot of time dude.

things i can think of at the top of my head:
- desk lamp
- clothes
- toiletries
- printer
- school supplies (binders, pens, **** like that)
- maybe cooking supplies if you want to cook
- bed sheets + pillow + blankets
- towels
- snacks
- microwave, fridge (can share this duty with roommates)
- maybe tv if you want one
- laundry hamper and other laundry ****
- maybe a fan (not THAT necessary, but sometimes it helps)
- locks (you can lock **** in your desk drawer)

Enjoy the rest of your senior year and your summer! don’t worry about packing yet. but here you go, the best and only packing list I needed:

Wait till late August-early September to shop for stuff and pack, if you can. All the big stores have their clearance deals on college stuff because all the semester kids already left!

I recommend going to Target (before you leave for here) and get their “Dorm in a bag”. It has bedsheets, a comforter, towels, a pillow, and some other stuff. I got it for $35 and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worth it compared to other stuff I saw at other stores. I would have been paying at least $35 alone for just the comforter at a place like Macy’s. I’m serious guys, get it. Honestly, I’d just buy everything for college at Target.

Wait till you get there and then go to the Walmart closest to UCSD. Half the new admits will be there. Bring a rule to measure space. We showed up with lamps, shelving, hamper, and nothing fit even though a lot was handed down from a UCSD grad. Bring tools. We bought and assembled a small end table to hold a printer. We did more shopping than most due to a less-than-ideal dorm space. You’ll never know the whole picture till you get there. Bring a flashlight for when you get back to your room when the roommates are asleep. Bring a few very basic eating utensils, mug, cereal bowl and dish towel.
