I’m a rising junior residing in Nevada, and I was wondering if Ivies and other top school heavily factor in location in the admissions process. Being from Nevada, the 3rd worst state for education, do I have a slight advantage or disadvantage when applying to top-tier schools? I have pretty good stats and ecs. Thanks!
Most of the most selective colleges like to build a geographically diverse population. I know that my daughter’s class at Cornell was comprised of students from 48 states, so it could give you a slight advantage if you are one of the most attractive candidates from your state applying to a given college.
