College recommendations

I really can’t narrow down any colleges X_X

Can you guys recommend me colleges based on your personal experiences?

My idea of a good college:
Located in the northeast (the closer to Albany the better)
Suburban. Not in a major city.
Moderately selective 25-50%
1000-15,000 students
Very small classes where you can get to know your professors very well
Really good math/statistics program
Full of good hardworking students and faculty. Just generally good people.

Also, my family doesn’t make much so cheap is good.

I don’t need fancy facilities, sports teams, or foreign campuses. I just need a nice place to get a good lecture from a great teacher.

If possible: If I could take a course or two in Latin that would be great.
An nice art club is a plus.

My info: I’m a sophomore. I’m a year ahead in math and science. My gpa is about a 3.9 unweighted I think? I have never gotten below a 90 on a report card. This year I took 2 honors courses. Next year I will be taking the 2 AP’s I was offered and I am going to be self studying AP Stats. I do mock trial. I’m a student ambassador for my school. I’m class treasurer. I take Latin, I have won two NLE gold medals. I go to a small, private school that requires volunteer work. I’m likely going to graduate salutatorian or valedictorian. I’m really into art, I have won an art contest without even trying and I got a scholarship to take classes at an art school this year. I got a 29 on my first diagnostic practice ACT exam.
Also, I’m a nice person and I’m very hardworking, people really like that about me:)

Union College would be worth a look. You might qualify for some merit aid there, especially if you can score a bit higher on the ACT.

Private schools such St. Lawrence, Holy Cross, Mt. Holyoke and URochester tend to be well-funded and could be affordable for you.

Hamilton receives recognition as a top college for math, though it might be a more selective than you’ve asked for here.

SUNY-Albany, though large, could serve as a safer admit for you.

Update: I took a practice SAT and I got 1360

Nice, @jakijakijaki.

How about Dickinson? They meet 99% of need. You should be running net price calculators (on the school websites) fit each school you are considering.

My daughter will be attending Plymouth State in NH in the fall-- well, more like “in 3 weeks.” She’s tickled pink! They do offer automatic scholarships for both in and out of state kids.

They do have a number of art majors: https://www.plymouth.edu/prospective/undergraduate/undergraduate/degree-programs/
