Hey everybody. My friend introduced me to a website, students review dot com, and I of course looked up UCF. Even though there were more positive reviews than negative, the negatives just made UCF sound like the worst college in the world!

I know some might be exaggerating and some might just be complaining because they didn't take the work seriously and then got upset when they failed.

But if any of you have seen the website, please check it out and if you've been to UCF (i've visited twice but during spring break for a competition), please inform me if the majority of reviews are correct. If you've got friends, relatives, etc. that go to UCF, ask them for their opinion.

For the most part, I would also recommend you look at other Florida schools and you will find out that most of the other schools have similar dislikes.
The front page is fraught with anger, just read past it as there will be posts like that in every school. It’s all about finding your “group” really.
I don’t really want to type too much here but if you want me to go as in-depth as you want, you can send me a private message.

Ah okay I understand. A lot of my friends have just said to me that most of the time it’s people that failed and they just go on an unreasonable rant

Your friend is right. The people who review on that website (for ANY school) are the ones who had a bad experience for one reason or another and need to vent their anger. Those who had good experiences are ambivalent about sharing them, for some reason.

The predominant complaint on students review seemed to be that UCF treats its kids like numbers–which is simply not true. UCF has given me more personal attention than I could have ever dreamed, and any time I went to anybody with any problem, it was always resolved within a day–including financial aid issues and a bad housing assignment.

The kids that say UCF is a bad school simply did not understand the resources that were available to them and utilize them–simply put, they’re lazy. They thought UCF would hold their hand, but no college does. Help is there in droves, but you have to seek it out. College is what you make it–if you’re proactive and be your own advocate, you’ll do fine.
