Hi, I am a student in Stafford, VA and was wondering if I could get some help with finding some more renown pre-med colleges that fit my high school stats.

GPA: 4.2
Class Rank: 11th
SAT: 1190/1600 or 1670/2400
Activities: Varsity Softball all years in High School, Red Cross Volunteer, ext.

Right now I am looking at Bridgewater College, Christopher Newport, and maybe even VCU as a backup, but I was wondering if there were any more prestigious schools I could apply to with a chance of being accepted.

Silly and prestige-whore is no way to go through life, kid.

On a more serious note, if you like those schools, apply to them. Do NOT pick schools solely on prestige. You've got to like the feel of a school.

Where you go for undergrad does not make a big difference in med school admission.

thank you very much =)

I was going to apply to them anyways, but just looking more options.

Why not try VT or JMU since you are instate VA? Any state school is going to have a fairly strong program for pre-med. And although your SATs are low, you could try for a reach at UVA or w&m. I'd suggest retaking your SAT's and trying to bring your score up 150 points or so -- Your class rank and GPA are solid though. Do you have strong ECs?

With your GPA you should be able to make the honors program at VCU and maybe get a scholarship. Also, maybe ODU or Radford? VA has tons of instate schools, so just maybe visit a few and get a feel where you would be most comfortable?
