I got accepted to Colgate, Lehigh, Bucknell, NYU, BU, Villanova, Loyola, and Providence. I want to major in International Relations and go Pre-Law. I was waitlisted at Emory, William and Mary and BC Which school should I choose? (Bucknell and BU each gave me $22,000 a year, and Colgate gave me $11,000) Im still waiting to hear back from some schools in terms of financial aid, but that being said what school should I choose?

You’ll want to figure out the net cost after financial aid and scholarships for each school before you decide.

Okay net cost for the schools im seriously considering that have sent me financial aid packages (this includes the cost of room and board):
Colgate: $42350 (my mom is going to try to work them down to $38000)
Bucknell: $33330
Lehigh: ?
Boston University:$36600
NYU:?
Villanova: ? (gave me only $2000 in merit money…)

NYU is going to be the most expensive.
My EFC was 1400 and I got 2000 in financial aid from them lol

But is an NYU education for what I want to major in, worth the money?

No school is worth that much money for any major…
Except Wharton Business at Upenn or Caltech Engineering

Well I have to choose one school sooo…

out of the choices i’d pick bu

wavylays94 what makes you say that?

Actually I think Bucknell is the best idea…
Cheapest and it is probably the best school of the group

^NYU and Villanova are sooo expensive so I didn’t include them…
Don’t pay 60k a year to go to NYU lol

thanks for your opinion! bump

Wait until you have all of your FA packages to make a decision.

IR is an honors major at NYU which you have to apply for your sophomore year after completing certain pre-reqs and maintaining a 3.65 GPA in said pre-reqs and overall.

Personally, I’m biased (obviously) but, all things being equal, would choose NYU over the other choices. However, considering the cost of NYU, I would not recommend choosing NYU if it would cost you substantially more to go there versus elsewhere.

Villanova is basically out of the picture. There program isnt strong and they didn’t offer me anything less than Colgate

I received my financial aid package for NYU and the cost would be approximately $50,000
