Pls, help very hard to decide. I got into UCSD, UT Austin, and Pitt. I want to pursue MD so I got into Bio programs in all 3. I am out of state for all three and it is tough to decide. Any guidance will help. Thank your time in advance…
@Raykan - what are the cost for all 3 ? Med school is very pricey so undergrad debt should be a concern, seems like you have some great choice, what is the math involved? No instate flagship ??
Did not apply for instate flagship since I did not like it, other instate I am not interested in as it is not a good one. Money is not a problem as I am going to be using 529 funds for it.
Have you toured each of them? Which one has the feel you like best? Do any of them offer special programs that might benefit you?
This is a thread with reviews of on-campus feel if you haven’t yet been able to tour. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/22762970#Comment_22762970
@Raykan since you say money is not an issue , which one do you think would work best for you, I think Pitt is a great choice, great city campus, highly rated med school on/near campus , but I like city’s you may not.
@Raykan: With OOS, you still somehow managed to be accepted at these three great schools, congratulation!
Here is my rank of preference: 1. UCSD; 2. UT Austin; 3. Pitt based on academic ranking and possible research opportunities.
*UT Austin: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/the-university-of-texas-at-austin-228778
Pls note that the rankings above are specifically for grad. school programs; however, I believe when you apply to medical schools, the higher rank schools usually have an edge.
UCSD not only has good bio programs (both UG and G) but also has one of the best medical schools in CA. Below is a College Factual’s quote for your reference:
“…UCSD Biology Ranked at #4 in College Factual’s most recent rankings, UCSD is in the top 1% of the country for biology students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. It is also ranked #2 in California.”
